History of Dutch Design Hotel Vondelpark
Built in 1915 and designed by renowned Dutch architect Gerrit Jan Rutgers, our historic building has welcomed guests for more than a century. Once known as Hospitium San Luchesio, the Franciscan Chapter House and priest hotel of Amsterdam, it served as a place of hospitality and connection for travellers from around the world. In the 2000s, the property opened its doors to a broader audience and became known as Hotel Central Park. In 2023, Aeon Plaza Hotels introduced the Dutch Design concept, transforming the hotel into Dutch Design Hotel Vondelpark, where contemporary Dutch creativity meets the natural beauty and tranquillity of Amsterdam's iconic Vondelpark.
